Game of Thrones
A) Style
“Snow drifts across the
bodies of the fallen dead”
Another point, is how action
but also horror occurs straight away as we are told that adults and children
were killed.
"You don’t think Mormont will ask us how they
died?"
- A sense of mystery appears as the men that arrive to find the dead bodies are confused and lost to why this has happened and panic to if somebody asks what happened to them.
B) Content
“They steady their sword
hands”
This tells us that the
setting doesn’t make the characters and audiences feel safe as even the
characters themselves fear the unknown and what is out there, giving a gloomy atmosphere.
I personally feel like this is an important part
of the scene as conflict was caused as the humans felt threatened. Soon after
this quote the men all draw out their swords, adding on to my point of how the
humans are scared of the creature.
C) Narrative structure
Third Person view:
“Stay where you are!”
This conveys how the
characters are either warriors or soliders as they feel confident to control a
figure of unknown. I believe that the reader has been introduced to the
characters like this to tell them that the show is about action and horror.
We know that the narrative structure is in third
person, because during action ‘I’ ‘me’, etc isn’t included.
D) Genre (Fantasy)
“A figure steps into the
moonlight, tall and gaunt, with flesh pale as milk”
This quote suggests that its
obviously fantasy themed, as similes and metaphors are being used to describe
how this figure is so animalistic.
however, it also tells us that it may
also be action packed as we can see that monsters and creatures are included.
E) Target audience
“He’s staring into the
darkness at the edge of the clearing”
This quote suggests that the main target
audiences would be between 17-45. Because it has hints of darkness but also
nudity and older teens may like this, but adults would watch this due to the
storyline and how its genre is action but in a gruesome way.
Alien

Blade Runner
This is Jade's analysis for Blade Runner. She said how the action involved was detailed and very involved. Her summary evidence - "There is a lot of specific detail within the script."
Jade also says how the target audience can be identified due to the names in the movie - "Deckard, Leon and Gaff" and she claims that the target audience would mainly be male who like these characters in sci-fi movies. The genre is clear to be sci-fi as Jade says "there are lasers involved". Jade made the genre appeal very easily as in the 80's lasers involved seemed futuristic. The characters are also introduced in detail and it describes the setting the characters are in (context).
